Siberian Cat HCM Calendar Contest & Fundraiser

Siberian Lovers! Get Your Cameras Ready!

I am pleased to announce another Siberian Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Fundraiser! We are launching a contest to benefit the Siberian breed by creating a” Siberians Have ” calendar. This will be a beautiful, full color calendar featuring photographs of our beloved breed.

We are looking for Siberian pet owners who have the knack for photographing their beautiful cats.

The Rules!

  • Submit between 3/1 - 4/15
  • Take some gorgeous, high resolution pictures of your Siberians - horizontal pics work best for a calendar.
  • No professional photographers or active breeders
  • Must be pedigreed Siberians
  • Must be emailed as an attachment including:
    • Your name
    • Your Siberian’s name
    • Your cat’s breeder’s name
  • Submit these to Sue Case at

Selection Process

We will select pictures from those submitted to be in the calendar to represent the breed with credit given to the owner & the cat. The selected pictures will be featured in each month as well as the cover.  Once we have the calendar submitted, we will have a link on this page to purchase the calendar including pre-orders.

We have a wonderful panel of folks who have kindly volunteered to be on our panel. They include:

  • Diana Starr - Starrlight Photography
  • Colleen Grandberg - Shiver Siberians, Canada
  • Judith Johnson - Mystic Melody Siberians (retired)

If you prefer to donate cash, you can do so at the 99 Lives donation site by clicking HERE.  Be sure to enter "99 Lives - Siberian Cat HCM Project" in the "Please share with us why you are giving" field.  See the picture below for an example. I have worked with Dr Lyons on this project including the last fundraiser.  3 years ago we raised $10,000 and found 3 cats to be sequenced for the project.  It was 2 of these cats that ended up having 2 variants of HCM that we need to study further.  The funds raised by the calendar and through donations will allow this research to continue and help us to have healthier Siberians!
